Hi Julia,

Sounds like all that you need is Moodle.

What I would do is as follows:

Create a Test of 3-4 essay questions within a Moodle Course
Add the students to the course
Students can then take the quiz
Test security features can be as follows:
1.) only giving the password to the proctor
2.) restricting the test to one of the on campus LCC testing labs

Let me know if there is a time that you would like to go over creating a test in Moodle and securing it ... if you would like to issue an online test similar to described above. The best days for me are Mondays and Wednesdays ... earlier in the day is easier to schedule.

Regards,

-Dan

Dear Online Gurus

Nursing dept will need to start doing a proctored essay - on computer - for 110 or so applicants in late April.

Thinking of using the computer labs in building 4 on a Friday and Sat. (will set up those details with CIT folks later)

What we need to figure out is a way to get the 3-4 essay questions uploaded onto a website- on which they might be able to type their reply and not be able to save their answers or the questions (test security for those essay questions) They will be proctored so that zipdrives or discs are not introduced into the computers.

any thoughts/....advice. The evaluators would like to have electronic copies to evaluate
