Dan,

Thank you for that information. Right now I have 8 courses I am attempting to manage in Moodle and each term I will be adding more. It would really help me to be able to get into the next term's instance sooner than 2 weeks before it starts, but I don't know if that's possible. Also, I would like to begin preparing my Spring courses now in Moodle. In order to do that....I usually backup and restore the current term into an inactive instance such as "Under Development". Where can I backup and restore my Winter courses in order to prepare them for Spring. Do I have to do that in the Winter instance? I have a lot of classes and to have all the Spring classes listed with the Winter classes could get a little confusing. Hope this makes sense.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi Joy,

As for course development, if you already have a course that you are developing - as you mention backing up a course, it sounds like you already have it in one of the Moodle instances, you can still work with the course in that Moodle instance (i.e. Fall 2006, or previous, etc.).

Since the term that your current Moodle course is in was not mentioned, I have included reference to other Moodle terms for accessing and working on your course.

http://moodle.lanecc.edu/previous
(contains earlier Moodle courses than Summer 2006)

http://moodle.lanecc.edu/summer2006

http://moodle.lanecc.edu/fall2006

http://moodle.lanecc.edu/winter2007

I checked into when the Spring 2007 courses will be available. I was informed that they should be ready approximately one week before the term ends.

When the Spring Moodle term is available, you can Backup your course from Winter term (or other term) and restore to the Spring term.

Feel free to let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks.

Regards,

-Dan

To begin preparing courses in Moodle for Spring '07...should I back up and restore my courses into the Winter term category or the Miscellaneous category since there is no Under Development category, or does it matter? Also, approximately when will the Spring URL be available?

Thanks for any assistance,

Joy
