Hello,

Right now, my students are taking a 40 point exam. Instead of getting a score based on 40 points (=100%), they are geting a score based on 10 points. For example, if a student earns 33/40 points, their grade is showing as an 8 (for 80 %). I have looked at my gradebook setup for last term, and this terms gradebook has the same setup. What is going on?

Thanks,
Lisa

Hi Lisa,

You can't get rid of the uncategorized category. It is the default category for instructors who grade on a simple sum of points (instead of weighted grades). In the case of points, you'd have one uncategorized category set to 100% weight.

If you are doing weighted grades, you create categories, give them percentage weights that total to 100%. In this case, you leave uncategorized set to 0% weight.

I'm not sure what you are doing that would make uncategorized come to 1 point.

Joe

Hello,

I have been setting up my moodle gradebook, and I keep trying to set the "uncategorized" category to 0 points. Moodle automatically resets this as 1 point. Is there a way to fix this? Is there a way to delete the category "uncategorized"?

Thanks,
Lisa
