Hi Jennifer,

Sounds like either one of the following is happening:

(1.) Make sure that you are using the correct version of the software
(the key that LCC has for Camtasia corresponds to the current / version from RealNetworks ( i.e. http://forms.real.com/rnforms/promos/200203/camtasia/index.html ) and not the old version from TechSmith

(2.) Make sure that the user (i.e. your Windows XP local username) that you are installing the software with has administrative rights (this is needed to commit the licensing key into the Windows registry

Feel free to let me know if you need anything else.

Regards,

-Dan

Hi there,

When I opened it up, I selected "I have a Software Key," then I put my name in the Name field and the number you gave me below in the Key field. It said, "You must enter a valid software key." I tried copying and pasting the number, and when that didn't work I typed in by hand, but then got the same error message. What did I do wrong?

Thanks,
Jen

Jen,
I got your registration number for Camtasia.

AKHCQ-6WUC4-MNXHL-AK2DS-SRE96

Enter this registration number and it should "legitimize" your free download.
