Hello Leah,
I hope your daughter is doing better.

You are certainly in a tough situation.  The LCC Week 8 deadline, which I emailed the class about, would have been an important time for you to make schedule changes for your classes.  You are currently in a very rough spot.

I'll give you the current situation as I see it.

First, the last time you contacted me with a Moodle message was April 16.  It is now June 4.  That's a long time.

You wrote that you've missed the last 2.5 weeks in Portland, but you've been absent for the last 3.5 weeks.  May 9 was the last day you were present in class.

You missed the Chapter 29 quiz last week, but had completed the Chapter 27, 28, and 30 quizzes, even though you weren't in class those weeks.  So, you must have had some internet access during that time.

You also completed 3 posts/replies in Forum 3, during week 8, a week where you weren't in class, but did complete the Chapter 28 online quiz.

Week 9 seems to be the biggest problem for missing the Chapter 29 quiz and failing to post in Forum 4.  However, you were keeping up with the online work for the other 2.5 weeks that you weren't in class.

The forum can't be made up, as students are done with the topics and no one will be posting/replying/discussing any of the issues with you at this time.  They will be studying for their final exams.

Your current grade (with a zero for Forum 4) is 60% D-
I am always read to excuse absences for students with health issues or children with health issues. In your case, this will only account for a positive 3% added to your grade.

It is certainly possible to pass the class with a D-, if you can earn a 60% or better on the final exam.  What concerns me is your very low midterm exam score (56%), and that was with you attending 8 out of 10 classes.  You've only attended 2 out of 9 classes for the second half of the term, and that leads me to believe that your final exam score would probably be lower than than your midterm score.  Any score lower than 60% would result in an F for the class.  

If you chose the Pass/No Pass grade option, the situation is worse.  To earn credit with a Pass, you would need to earn 70% in the class, or at least a strong B on the final exam.

While all is not lost, passing the class would require tremendous effort on your part.  I'd expect that you'd come to the last class on Thursday, complete both anonymous class surveys in Moodle for 1% extra credit point, AND that you would attend one if not both of the final exam review sessions next week.  That would give you a fighting chance, but I'm afraid that everything will rely on a very good final exam score next week.
